Pitt River Bridge

About 15 km south of Pitt Lake and just a few km north of the Fraser, the Pitt River Bridge connects Port Coquitlam with Pitt Meadows. More importantly, though, it provides access to Vancouver for the bedroom communities on the north of the Fraser.

Basically, the Pitt River Bridge is composed of two bridges, each with two lanes going in one direction. In recent years, the bridge's traffic through-put system was upgraded immensely, when a changeover was put in to allow for three lanes in one direction during rush hour peak periods.

The Pitt River Bridge is a fun place to visit when you are touring the dykes around the Pitt River. A gas station at the east end of the bridge allows for provisions, if you plan to stay long on the gorgeous dykes. The west end of the bridge is the site of the Wild Duck Inn, a bar with exotic entertainment.

There is a boat launch under the bridge, on the PoCo side.
