Mountain Biking in PoCo

The biking along the Pitt River dykes is scenic and you can get some high speeds, but nobody would call it mountain biking. To step up the technicality a tad, head over to Coquitlam River's Crystal Falls Trail - but even this will barely get your heart-rate up.

The best mountain biking in Port Coquitlam is up on Burke Mountain, most often accessed via Harper Road, which is near the top of Coast Meridian Rd. Watch for the yellow gate right before the gun club. There are some great singletracks like the Woodland Walk Trail, which is found by taking the first left and then keeping an eye out to the left. The Sawblade Trail is also in that area, even intersecting the Woodland Trail.

Many bikers appreciate the loop that is available by takng the Galloway Trail. After passing the yellow gate, stay to the right - after a while, you'll see the trail on your right, just before the road passes under the powerlines. It takes you back down to Galloway Rd and then Harper Road, so you can do it all again without going back up the trail.
