Fishing in Port Coquitlam
Coquitlam River
-No fishing above Mary Hill Bypass Bridge, May 1 - June 30
-Fishing allowed between Lougheed Hwy. and Mary Hill Bypass bridges, July 1 - October 15
-Maximum catch: maximum of two 20-30 cm hatchery trout
-Coho Sept 1 thru March 31; Maximum catch: two per day at 25-50 cm
-Also
cutthroat trout, dollies, and winter steelhead. No power boats.
De Boville Slough
-Empties out of Hyde Creek especially, winding through northeast PoCo and into the Pitt River. Drive along Prairie Rd to Cedar Drive, turn north, slough begins near power lines.
-Cutthroat in spring and fall, and a few coho in the fall. Two coho (under 50 cm) limit.
Pitt River
-Massive river emptying from Pitt Lake and running north-south on PoCo's east side, to the Fraser River.
-Chinook closed April 1 - March 31
-Coho maximum catch: 2 per day, 25 - 35 cm. Sept 1 - March 31
-Also dollies and cutthroat trout.

Freshwater Licencing Requirements
16 years or older:
-you must have a valid basic licence to sport fish
-you must purchase appropriate supplementary licenses and stamps
-you must carry your licence while sport fishing and, if asked; produce it for inspection by a Conservation Officer, Fishery Officer, RCMP constable, or a Park ranger in a park., basic and supplementary licenses and stamps are not valid in National Parks.
Under 16 and a resident of BC:
-you may sport fish without any licence or stamp
-you do not need to be accompanied by a licence holder
-you are entitled to your own quota of fish.
Under 16 and a non-resident of BC:
-you do not require any licence or stamp to sport fish, but you must be accompanied by a person (resident or non-resident) who has the appropriate licenses and stamps
-any fish you keep, must be counted as part of the catch and possession of your accompanying licence holder
-If you want to catch and keep your own quota of fish, you may buy a licence and any necessary stamps.
