Widgeon Falls / Creek

Widgeon Lake hangs high above the Pitt River Valley, draining steeply as Widgeon Creek (or River, in the winter!), finally flattening out and settling into the Widgeon Slough.

About 45 minutes back up the trail from the campground at Widgeon Slough, a series of gorgeous and dangerous waterfalls cuts a dramatic path down the valley. There are a lot of places for basking in the sun, and even for jumping into the cold, clean water.

Don't even try to navigate your canoe or kayak upstream from the camping area at the top of the slough. You'll soon be thwarted by log jams and fast currents.
